Dr. Matthew Howell

Dr. Matthew D. Howell founded Andover Family Dentistry in 2010 with a vision of creating a practice centered on exceptional care, strong relationships, and continuous growth. A Wichita native, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Wichita State University before being accepted early into the Reserved Admissions Program at the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Dentistry, where he graduated with his doctor of dental surgery degree (DDS) in 2009. Committed to expanding the care he provides, Dr. Howell also completed advanced training through the University of Utah’s Dental Sleep Medicine Program, allowing him to help patients improve not only their oral health but their overall well-being.
For Dr. Howell, dentistry is where people, purpose, and performance come together. He enjoys solving meaningful problems, helping patients achieve healthier lives, and mentoring a team that is dedicated to continual improvement. Caring for patients of every age and background means every day brings new conversations and new opportunities to make a difference. He believes that building an outstanding dental practice is an ongoing journey—one focused on excellence, honesty, and creating a place where both patients and team members feel valued, supported, and inspired.
Outside the office, Dr. Howell enjoys spending time with his wife, Stacey, his high school sweetheart, and their three children. Whether cheering on his kids in their athletic pursuits, traveling with family, or enjoying the outdoors through hunting, fishing, and working on the family’s ranch and growing pecan orchard, he values the time they spend together. His home is also shared with three beloved dogs—Gus and Olive, two Italian Spinones, and Navy, a spirited Dachshund who proudly patrols the homestead. Dr. Howell is most proud of watching his children pursue their passions with confidence while growing into kind, independent individuals.
Education
Dr. Howell completed his undergraduate studies at Wichita State University (WSU) in 2005. He was then accepted into the Reserved Admission Program through the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Dentistry, which allowed him early entry into dental school. He completed his doctorate of dental surgery at UMKC in 2009. Following completion of his training, Dr. Howell continues to pursue his passion for providing high-quality, beautiful dentistry by completing numerous hours of continuing education each year.
Family Life
Dr. Howell grew up in Derby, Kansas in a large family. He married his high school sweetheart, Stacey, and together they reside in Andover where they are raising their three children. When he’s not at the office, Dr. Howell enjoys hunting and fishing on their family farm, spending time with his wife and children, and cheering on the Wichita State Shockers.
Dr. Ashley Thomas
Dr. Ashley Thomas has a passion for helping people feel confident in their smiles while building meaningful relationships with every patient she meets. She earned her bachelor of science in biology from Wichita State University before completing her doctor of dental surgery degree (DDS) at the University of Missouri–Kansas City. Since joining Andover Family Dentistry in 2022, she has enjoyed combining the creativity and precision of dentistry with the opportunity to make a lasting, positive impact on people’s lives. For Dr. Thomas, no two days are ever the same, and she loves the challenge and fulfillment that come with helping patients achieve healthier, happier smiles.
Dr. Thomas believes exceptional dental care starts with getting to know the person behind the smile. She enjoys hearing each patient’s unique story, sharing a little of her own, and creating a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and genuinely cared for. She also appreciates the supportive, fun-loving culture at Andover Family Dentistry, where laughter is a regular part of the workday, and the close-knit team feels like family. That positive atmosphere allows her to provide honest, compassionate care while making every visit as relaxed and enjoyable as possible.
Outside the office, Dr. Thomas loves spending time with her husband—her high school sweetheart—and their three young children. Whether they’re camping, hiking, or exploring local attractions, family adventures are some of her favorite moments. She also enjoys discovering new restaurants and local microbreweries with her husband, serving through her church community, and gathering with her large extended family whenever possible. Inspired by her husband’s work helping stroke and head injury patients, Dr. Thomas strives to bring the same compassion, patience, and personal connection to every patient she cares for.
Dr. Mary Goedert
Dr. Mary Goedert is a Wichita native who is passionate about building lasting relationships with patients while providing thoughtful, personalized dental care. She earned her bachelor of life sciences with a minor in biology from Kansas State University before completing her doctor of dental surgery degree (DDS) at the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Dentistry. Since joining the practice in 2025, Dr. Goedert has enjoyed serving the community she calls home. As a member of the Kansas Dental Association and the Wichita District Dental Society, she remains committed to staying connected to the profession while embracing the latest advancements in dentistry.
For Dr. Goedert, dentistry is about much more than treating teeth—it’s about caring for people. She loves that every patient has a unique story and every treatment plan presents a new opportunity to make a meaningful difference. Whether helping someone overcome dental anxiety or restoring confidence through personalized treatment, she is dedicated to creating a welcoming, honest, and trusting environment where patients feel comfortable and cared for. She especially enjoys watching the transformation that quality dental care can make and values being a trusted part of her patients’ lives for years to come. One of her favorite parts of the job is interacting with children, whose honest and often hilarious personalities always brighten her day.
Outside the office, Dr. Goedert enjoys spending time with her husband, Connor, and their three children, Brooks, Lainey, and Gwen. Much of family life revolves around outdoor adventures, baking together, church activities, and making lasting memories. She also enjoys discovering new coffee shops and wineries, picking fresh flowers, thrifting for home projects, listening to audiobooks, and attending country concerts. At home, the family is kept busy by Bailey, their lovable Goldendoodle, along with a flock of backyard hens—many of whom are named after famous female country singers.
